Incident Location: 2353 Woodland Avenue
On the morning of Tuesday, September 10th, 2024, the Wantagh Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a house fire with occupants within on Woodland Avenue off St. Regis Street. Those first to arrive on scene were met with heavy fire showing from a two-story private dwelling and an occupant removed from the residence. Firefighters went on to put two hand lines into operation for fire on the first floor with extension to the second floor. The fire was quickly extinguished and all searches throughout the home were negative. The occupant from within was turned over to medical personnel on scene with unspecified injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation and all fire department units were under the command of Wantagh Chief of Department Mathewson [6900]. (Text Credit K2M)
