wrecked NYPD van

I saw this van on the side of the road a few months ago in Hamilton Heights I believe. Unknown story behind it as to what happened.

That picture isn't of the same van!  If you look at them, the one in the first post doesn't have a light bar and the right front corner of the van is totally smashed in.  The van in this picture has a light bar and the right front corner is intact so the pictures are a completely different vans.  Also posting a picture certainly doesn't answer the question that was posted.

Lawsuits / investigations, etc.
