Chief deputy: Braxton crash that killed mother, daughter, firefighter was murder-suicide
The firefighter who died after jumping in and trying to rescue the woman and child after the vehicle was driven into the water has been identified by firefighters and first responders across the state as John Dean Forbush, 24, a four-year veteran of the Gassaway Volunteer Fire Department.
