140 Prall Ave X Hugenot Ave

0914hrs- 10-75 for fire on the 2nd floor of a P/D. S/C extra Engine and Truck.

0918hrs- B-23 Using All-Hands, L-76 FAST

0928hrs- B-23 rpts Primary (-), (2) L/S/O.

Possible response:

    Engines 164, 167, 168 Ladders 84, 87 R 5, Sq 1, FAST L 76, Bn 23, Bn 21, Div 8

Extra Engine 151, Ladder 82 (from New Dorp)

Additional trivia:
1. In 1960, responses would have been:

    E 164, E 151, L 84, L 76, Bn 23 - initial assignment - usually 2+2 plus chief

    E 162, R 5, Div 8 - box transmitted - R 5 was staffed by L 78 (New Brighton) and would be deactivated in 1962

    E 159, L 81 (in Dongan Hills) - extra engine/truck - L 81 moved to South Beach later in 1960

2. This would have been a brush box in 1960 - house wasn't built

3. Still a dead end road

4. Prall Avenue does not intersect with Huguenot Avenue - they run parallel

5. The old Huguenot Volunteer Engine 1 firehouse is a few blocks away on Huguenot Ave and still standing

6. E 164 and L 84 would have responded from same firehouse on "Carlton Avenue" (original street name)

7. All the engine companies would have had 2 pieces - both pumpers - poor water supply

8. L 84 would have responded with a FWD wooden tiller - all truck companies were tillers

Also - this South Shore fire is another very long run for Squad 1 - too long - SI needs a squad company

From 1951 to 1962, L82 would've responded with a 1951 Ward LaFrance 750gpm Quad.

The department is renovating there quarters L82 is in new drop E 162 is quartered with E167 and the 23 ban is with E 168 for the next year or so
