Macy's Department Store.  20 story 525x200.  3 subcellars   Command Post at 151 W34st.  Entrance interconnected to 1317-29 Broadway.   Transformer vault in subcellar B.  A.k.a. 163 W34 st and 108-144 W35 sts.  Dogs at night.

BC9: At this time we're using All-Hands, we have 1 precautionary line stretched.  Fire is contained to the vault room.  We have Macy's electrician on scene, he's trying to cut power to the building.

Division 1 : At this time Division 1 requests to transmit a 10-76 for a fire in the transformer vault in the subcellar.  ConEd is here, they're in the process of cutting power to the building.  FD is standing by awaiting power removal.

12:44 hours - Duration 1 hour
DC1: At this time, the power has been cut to the building,  all visible fire has been knocked down with dry chem.  Currently we're starting up the HVAC system to vent smoke.  ConEd is working on cutting the feed from the 35 st side.  Fire is still Doubtful, and at this time the upper floors are remaining sheltered in place.  Partial evacuation with the upper floor sheltered in place.

DC1: At this time, all visible flaming has been knocked down.  Electrical conduit is still energized, the Macy's and ConEd electricians are working on it. There is no smoke condition on the upper floors.  Primary and secondaries on the upper floors are complete negative.  Primaries in the sub-floors are negative, secondaries in progress.  We will go Probably Will Hold at this time.

FieldCom: Progress report for the All-Hands 10-76 Box 713, Macy's Department Store at 151 W34 st, Car 6, AC Esposito, reports: Continuing to operate with the units on scene, in progress of  evacuating the 7th Ave side of the store in anticipation of cutting power.  ConEd is on the 35th st side attempting to cut the feed into the building, and remaining Probably Will Hold.

FC: At All-Hands 10-76 Box 713, Car 6, AC Esposito reports: ConEd and Macy's personnel are on scene with a private contractor.  They are in the process of cutting the load to the 7th Ave side of the building, trying to isolate the switch.  Secondary searches are negative and going to remain Probably Will Hold.

Probably out on a run prior to this. This is the second fire they've had there in about two months. Last one was a 2nd alarm just before Christmas.

Engs. 1, 26, 14, L24, L4 came off other assignments.
Squad 18, E16, Battalion 7 were on a HazMat run.
TL21, Battalion 6 operating relief at last night's 3rd alarm.
