Phone Alarm Reporting Fumes On The 5th Floor.

B9: We Need HazMat To Respond (HM1/HMB/SQ18HMTU), They Do Some Jewelry Work On The 5th Floor & They Had Some Chemicals That They Use Mix. We Also Need EMS To Respond To Standby, Just People Complaining. @09:20

B9: Approximately 100 People Evacuated From The 5th Floor, Building Engineer Is Activating The Ventilation System. Units Continue To Operate & Await The Arrival Of HM1. @09:36

B9: HM1 Is 10-84, Investigating The Source Of The Fumes. EMS Is Evaluating Some Of The People That Were Evacuated. @10:03

Some of the chemicals used in jewelry making are pretty nasty by themselves, let alone mixed. I know that there are certain things I don't want to work with, like plating solutions containing cyanide.

There are many valid and very good reasons for the Chief to do that.
