Westerly RI FD was called to a house fire at 11 Fox Run on Sunday. Arriving PD reported heavy flames from the home. A first alarm assignment was transmitted bringing Engines 1,2,3,and 4 plus Ladder 1 and Special Hazards (Rescue) along with Westerly Ambulance and Westerly PD. With the first alarm, Pawcatuck (CT) FD was put on alert in case additional units were needed. A second alarm was transmitted bringing and engine and ladder from Watch Hill FD and one engine and one tower ladder from Pawcatuck FD. About an hour into the incident, evacuation tones were sounded for all personnel to leave the building and switch to defensive operations. An additional engine from Pawcatuck was requested. Dunns Corners FD relocated an engine to Westerly and North Stonington (CT) relocated one engine to Pawcatuck. Heavy fire involved the home and attached garage with fire through the roof in several areas. Part of the garage collapsed. Units worked on scene for several hours. A canteen unit also responded from Providence.
