Engine 70/Ladder 53

Rob, in the summer months Marine operation 3 operates near City Island. (Or is it Marine Ops 4). It is a smaller boat manned by two FDNY Members. I think the hours of operation is like 7 AM to midnight daily during those months.
 
Marine 4 operates out of Fort Totten on the Bronx Frequency, roughly from May to October, 0700 to either 2300 or midnight daily.
 
After Marine 4 (Full time unit) was disbanded over 20 years ago & the vessel (John Glenn) was sold to Washington DC fire, there was a volunteer fireboat that assisted in the City Island area. If I remember correctly, it was called the 'Sun Cat' & was part of the USCG Aux. program. The vessel & its crew battled many of the water front fires in the area for a good number of years. They also had an FDNY radio on board.
