Roseland Ballroom is sold out for Barstool Blackout tour, ?an absolute orgy of sound and lights

A roving dance party that vows to leave ?a path of destruction in its wake? hits the Roseland Ballroom Friday night, and cops are bracing for trouble.

There will be a visible police presence at the famed Midtown venue aimed at preventing a repeat of the drunken mayhem that marred another ?blackout? bash across the river in Montclair, N.J.

"We're a big department,? Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly said. ?We handle a lot of different events every year, certainly in Manhattan. I think we are positioned to handle this type of event."

Montclair wasn?t.

The New Jersey town had a ruckus on its hands Thursday night when cops moved in to break up the party at the Wellmont Theatre.

Prompted by reports of passed out teenagers being trampled by partygoers, police moved in just as the Barstool Blackout Tour bash was getting going and began evicting the revelers.

Some 3,000 college-age kids were in the crowd, many of them trashed and rowdy, and some did not go willingly.

The Montclair P.D. quickly called in reinforcements from several nearby towns and arrested a half-dozen troublemakers for disorderly conduct.

Nearly a dozen more were rushed to a nearby hospital for alcohol poisoning.

The crowd, Montclair Police Chief David Sabagh said later, was ?heavilly intoxicated.?

The event is like a house party but is held in a public venue and features DJ?s, throbbing music, lots of dancing and boozing.

?Lazers (sic), Fog, Blacklights, Stroked and Everything that Glows right in your eyeball,? organizers say on their Facebook page. ?An absolute orgy of sound and lights for all your senses.?

BarstoolU.com, the firm that promotes and stages parties mostly on college campuses, has been accused of encouraging partygoers to binge drink until they ?black out.?

The company denies this and insists on its site that they?re kidding about the ?destruction in its wake? boast.

?This is satirical you f-----g morons,? it says.

There was nothing satirical about the sloshing at a barstool bash held at the Paramout in Huntington, L.I. earlier this month that drew 1,600 revelers and sent nine of them to the hospital with liquor-related poisoning

Police Commissioner Ray Kelly said the NYPD could take on the party, which boasts on Facebook that it will leave ?a path of destruction in its wake
