so they are closing the doors on there thumbs; maybe some warning stickers on how to use doors.
remove hand completely from area before closing door; common sense.

  Yes,  after seeing the injury photos and the location of the handle even, lt  looks  like  a legit  issue. 
  How  are  the  handles  on  Seagraves  and  Ferraras  positioned  in  comparison ?

Listen.....before the buff speculation gets outta control....


There was a "D" shaped handle mounted on the hinge side of the door.  Grabbing this handle to close the door could EASILY have left your thumb in the way.  It was a poor design.  Not sure if it was FDNY spec or something KME added...all that's important is that it has been removed from every rig.  Guys are in and out of all these rigs dozens of times everyday...bad design + law of averages.....

Yes,  0ne  can  see in  the  available  photos,  the  handle  and  location  to  the  hinge...  Good  they  were  removed...
