I noticed that too. I'd be surprised if they did. Obviously aluminum is corrosion resistant like stainless steel but it's also much less resilient to fatigue fractures than stainless steel is. I hope somebody knows for sure and can fill us in.soda-acid said:Body: Extruded Aluminum. Did they change the specs for the body from steel to aluminum? Or is it a mistake?
The determination as to what type of lighting as well as almost everything else on the trucks is made by a team that includes both chiefs as well as firefighters and other line officers. Towards aluminum wheels was made both as a weight reduction and is a maintenance/safety issue since steel wheels notoriously rust and sometimes that can lead to failure. They went to the LED lighting to reduce the load on the electrical systems since there is so much electronic stuff on the rigs these days.Nasibova said:l see they switched to aluminum wheels. lt seems they were switching to aluminum wheels on the 2010 towers too. And the rear door windows look like the KME now.
Who determines what type warning lights on cab roofs? they look like the older ones did.
