In 2007 this site was developed by my son Tom and his best friend Mike. They worked very hard to give us the best and informative site.
There are as many 2000 to 4000 individuals monitoring the site a a time. Right now there is over 2000 members waiting to read your reports.
I have assembled a staff with fire service professionals, all working to keep the site running smoothly and professionally.
As I have stated many times, this site is a member generated website so if we don't use the talent that is available to us we are as managers fools. So if you have any ideas to improve this site, please contact us.
I know myself, I don't like to make stupid mistakes. We all are human so new members may hesitate in fear of being chastised. Please offer to help all new members.
Lastly over the years, many sites dedicated to the fire service are no longer operating because of the lack of interest. No one is paying attention to what is being put on or arguing over some silly thing, or criticizing other members of their Dept. or surrounding depts in an open forum.
When posting incidents be prepared to have sufficient information available. Some other member maybe already have a fear of stepping on the others toes, and this will keep them from posting. This is not a race! There will be no arguing of any kind, use private messaging. If we all work together and respect one another, we will continue to have a successful site. Those individuals who break the rules will be subject to suspension or be terminated. The staff will continue to investigate all complaints.
We look forward to many more successful years of nycfire.net
