When marine one lands st the help port or any other areas in New York what is the detail that would be assigned there?

Heliport    I have to start reading my post before I send them ! Would that be a port authority job or fdny?

Yes sorry about that it?s hard typing on a smart phone I need to get a computer and do this so I can see what the hell I?m doing but yes the question is USMC marine one landing at the New York City heliport what would be The apparatus detail in support of their landing or would that be a port authority detail thank you

From what I saw in some videos and pictures I was researching was that there?s always a rescue truck there and sometimes an engine and a battalion chief it looks like.

Incident Action Plan done by the Incident Managed Team

Think Rescue Hazmat Squad

Couple Engines a Decon Engine

Couple Foam Units

Couple Trucks

Couple SOC Support Trucks

2 Battalion Chiefs

Then again I could be wrong

Although there is some variation, the typical FDNY standby assignment is one foam unit and one Purple K unit, both with associated engines, rescue, ladder, tactical support unit, marine unit, battalion chief, and often the foam operations chief.

I found this video and it shows a rescue on standby that?s the only one I see there is another video with an engine also

And from I researched one of the rescues there is on one of the boats as standby divers and then an engine for crash

Also if I may add, all the companies assigned have pre-designated members who have prior clearance by the Secret Service - or at lest that's the way it used to be.

Did it many times for the President  & or the Vice President in Manhattan w/R*2 '70s/'80s when R*1 was unavailable & for the Secretary Of The Navy at the Homeport in SI while a Covering LT in R*5 ....the only pre approved clearance was for The Pope at Aqueduct Racetrack 1995 .

If I'm understanding you correctly, are you saying there was no Marine 1 landing, pre-approval for President or Vice-President??

That is correct.....the only time was for the Pope at Aqueduct in that case FD IDs were made weeks in advance & those ID 'd were restricted from make any changes to their tour on that day....the Helo landings generally just occurred as a normal response....there was no outside knowledge as to who was working at the time.

I have done a few of the stand by for the POTUS over the past few years , The Rescue , a foam unit and the purple K unit are out on the pier , the two engines assigned with the foam and purple K units are out on Water street on a hydrant with supply lines stretch out on the pier .Tac-1 also but not OOS for the detail,  I don't ever recall a Truck being assigned .  No FDNY diver out on any of the fire boats , the NYPD Harbor & SCUBA units have that responsibility  , but the the Rescue on the pier has their SCUBA equipment if need be .  No special clearance needed to do the stand by, but the Secret Service does go though EVERY compartment of the three rigs out on the pier w a K-9 dog .  Once the Secret Service "clears" the three rigs they can't leave the pier . If the POTUS is just in town for the day the rigs stay put for the length of his stay.  Its a long day of hurry up and wait .  The actual time the POTUS is on the pier is probably less then 2 minutes .

Very interesting, while I knew about the Pope, there were several EMS chiefs that I delt with throughout the years, and each time the P or VP came in - the EMS chiefs would let me know about the detail - so that - I thought that meant a special detail preassigned.

Kinda strange that there would be tighter security for the Pope then for our own P or VP.
