Both great rundowns and a great video, thanks, Skyler Fire,

I’m not from that area. Can you please add a key as to what cities each abbreviation stands for? I can piece most together, but some I’m not. Example NH?
KY: Kearny
BA: Bayonne
HO: Hoboken
NH: North Hudson
BE: Belleville
BL: Bloomfield
MT: Montclair
SE: Secaucus
HA: Harrison
JC: Jersey City

Thank You! 👍!

I’m guessing that North Hudson must have had off-duty members in for coverage and they manned reserve apparatus for the second Fire.

I guess it was almost to the point of FDNY going for Mutual Aid. This has happened in the past for 2 fires, one of which was a Church in I think Jersey City, a few years ago. The FDNY sent 3 Engines, 2 Tower Ladders and a Battalion Chief to help Jersey City with two fires at the same time, close to each other, a few years back.
Capt. Bob Rainey FDNY Engine 26 retired

They don’t want them doing that anymore.

Yes they recall members to man apparatus but sadly a lot of companies where in spares so they couldn’t get the number they usually get…

Skyler: Great catch of this job. The video from the front (Bergenline Ave) and the rear (Van Buren Pl) of the scene plus your commentary and the rundown were excellent.

You must have lived in Jersey in the past since you were familiar with all of the different departments that responded.
I grew up in West New York 3 blocks from the scene and buffed at Ladder 4 (tiller in front of the fire building) whose quarters are around the corner from where I lived. Brought back a lot of memories from those years.

Yes I am from Kearny use to buff North Hudson A lot. They need to reopen L2 and SQ6 which were closed in 2010. Covering 5 Towns with 10 Engines 4 Ladders is a lot. L1 TL3 L4 all doing 1,900-2,100 calls a year
