Did The City Record list the members for each company at that time? If so, how would you search for that information?

I was just doing a search for Engine 235 and the city record for 1915 listing all FDNY companies w/names and salaries. There were about 10 names per company and listed their appointment date. I did not save the address but will try to find it again.

On this day in 1960, a mid-air collision above the city sent the wreckage of a plane crashing through a Park Slope intersection.
The United Airlines flight struck a Trans World Airlines plane at a major airway intersection after experiencing a navigation system error. All 128 holiday travelers on both planes were killed, along with six bystanders, when the United flight careened through the intersection of Seventh Avenue and Sterling Place.
Jet fuel from the wreckage set 10 adjacent brownstones aflame, as well as a funeral home, a laundromat, a delicatessen and the nearby Pillar of Fire Church.
Accounts of the accident described bodies and wrapped Christmas gifts strewn among the rubble.
The United flight had been bound for Idlewild Airport, which would later become JFK. The TWA flight, which had been headed to LaGuardia, crashed in a Staten Island field.
The United flight’s data recorder showed that the plane had been 12 miles off course at the time of the collision, and that the flight’s captain had failed to follow instructions from air traffic control that told the plane to slow down.
The incident took place on the eve of the anniversary of the Wright brothers’ first successful powered flights in 1903. It was one of the earliest commercial airline disasters since passenger jet service’s popularization in the late 1950s.
Some buildings destroyed by the fire were rebuilt completely, but replacement brickwork is still visible at 123 Sterling Place. Newer brickwork near the top of 126 Sterling Place reveals where the United plane’s right wing cut through the building.
The crash left just one initial survivor. Eleven-year-old Stephen Baltz had been traveling from Illinois to visit family for Christmas in Yonkers. A snowbank extinguished his burning clothes, but Baltz died of pneumonia the next day from jet fuel fume inhalation at what is now NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital.
The hospital’s chapel houses a wall plaque that includes four dimes and five nickels that were in Blatz’s pocket during the crash. The plaque reads, “Our Tribute to a Brave Little Boy.”

The location on Union Street at the time seems to be exposure 2 to the quarters of Engine 269.
The firehouse is 788 Union Street, even though I've seen it listed as 786 Union.
The 1940s tax map view looks like it's 788, the same numbers seen today, but it's not clear.

FDNY Brooklyn Fire House Ladder 122 celebrated its 100 years of service last Thursday October 18, 2007. Along with the firefighters, the fire commissioner and chief of the department celebrated its firefighters past and present. During the ceremony a tribute wall was revealed. The wall mentions every firefighter that has worked for 122. Ladder 122 is one of the oldest running fire houses operating in the FDNY.
“It’s great day here,” said FDNY Captain Peter Maglione. “It was an honor to work here. I liked working here.”
“It’s a true honor for us to look up everybody that worked here, and to see how it came out,” said Donald Campbell of the FDNY. “It came out so beautiful."

A 3-month-old baby boy was rescued by firefighters after he'd suddenly stopped breathing inside a Park Slope home, authorities said.
The baby had suddenly fallen unconscious inside his home on 7th Street near Eight Avenue at about 3:30 p.m. Monday, said fire officials.
The child's frantic mother called 911 and firefighters from Engine Co. 220, just a few blocks away on 11th Street, arrived within minutes to find the child unconscious on the mother's bed and not breathing.
Firefighters went right to work, administering CPR and chest compressions, said Lt. Tom Watson of Engine Co. 220.
About 60 seconds after CPR began, the baby's eyes opened, said Watson, crediting his men for the "lightning fast" response.
EMT's arrived and the firefighters joined the child and the mother, who were rushed to Methodist Hospital.
"On the way to Methodist the baby started to cry," said firefighter Danny Anderson. "That's always a good sign."
"It feels great. It feels awesome. This is why we come to work," added Anderson, who credited fellow firefighters Frank Monte, Dom Santa Maria and Brian Sheehan, for their part in what he called a team effort.
By the time the baby reached the hospital, he was breathing on his own and doing well, said Anderson.
"It's part of the everyday job. Everyone did what they were supposed to do and this is the outcome you look for."

Councilman Brad Lander awarded citations to six FDNY companies who responded to the inferno that broke out in an apartment on President Street on Thanksgiving Day.

Three fire engines and two ladder companies arrived on the scene of in two minutes and 27 seconds.
Thanks to the FDNY's rapid response time to the inferno in the apartment between Fourth and Fifth avenues, five lives were saved, including an eight-month-old baby boy who was brought back to life by fireman Neil Malone who administered CPR on the scene.
Last Friday, Councilman Brad Lander awarded citations to six FDNY companies who responded to the Thanksgiving Day blaze at Engine 220 and Engine 219's firehouses with Squad 1, Rescue 2, Ladder 105 and Ladder 122.
It is absolutely certain that without the courageous response of the FDNY, the family would not have survived Thanksgiving 2011," Councilman Lander said to firemen in Engine Company 220 and Ladder Company 122's house on 11th Street. "It was a Thanksgiving Day miracle, but it is unbelievably the everyday job that you guys do."
On that fateful Thursday, November 24, at around 12:17 p.m. a cigarette ignited a mattress and trapped two men, two women and an infant in their apartment.
Squad 1 and Engine 239 staffed the first hose line to extinguish the flames while and Rescue 2, Engine 220, Ladder 122, Ladder 105, Engine 226, Engine 219 all helped in the response, rescue, resuscitation of the baby and an adult male who were under cardiac arrest and extinguished the flames all in an hour.
The FDNY's Brooklyn Borough Commander, Chief James Leonard, was proud of his firemen for the successful coordinated effort.
"Seconds count in our business," Chief Leonard said in Engine Company 220's firehouse. "People don't realize how important response time is and . It's a good thing it didn't because we need to get to the scene quickly."
Last June, Engine Company 220 was on a list of 20 firehouses that were slated to close, and Councilman Brad Lander, the house stayed open.
"Lander has always been a big supporter of the FDNY," Leonard said, as he turned to address the Councilman on Friday. "You gave us the resources to stay open and this is what we can do for you: You get the finest fire protection money can buy in your district."
According to New York Presbyterian Cornell Weill Medical Center, as of Wednesday the baby, Josiah Alexis, is in fair condition. He was in critical condition until this past weekend.
His mother, Jasmine Alexis, is still being treated at King's County Hospital and her twin sister, Justine had been released. Their brother, Jonathan, is still in the hospital but is in good condition and the other victim is still in serious condition.
Firefighter Matthew Hanley, from Ladder 122, rescued the man who escaped the flames by climbing out of the window and on to a glass awning of the building next door, where he screamed for help while bleeding.
"I grabbed a 24-footer [a ladder] and got him," Hanley said, who has been a fireman for 13 years. "Without the coordination of all our guys it wouldn't have been possible. There is no iron fireman."
Another brave firefighter, David Newberry from Rescue 2, saved the baby from the flames and then passed him to Neil Malone who brought him back to life with CPR.
"Everyone did a good job working the fire," Newberry said with a humble tone. "The entire Fire Department contributed to the rescue."
Richard Myers, also from Rescue 2, saved a woman and a man.
"The inside was charred and there was heavy smoke. I put my mask on, cleared the window and hopped in," Myers said. "I found the man on the floor by the bed and got him out of there."
The citations Lander awarded the fire companies were for "Demonstrating bravery and valor in responding and extinguishing the fire, aided in the heroic rescue of five victims from the burning building," the citations read. "Therefore be it known that the Park Slope community is thankful for the courage and dedication shown…in protecting our neighbors from harm and saving their lives."
Councilman Lander said that New Yorkers are grateful for the FDNY's everyday courage, but Slopers were especially grateful on Thanksgiving Day when "the thin line between life and death was right before our eyes," Lander said.
Chief Leonard and all the firemen were honored that Lander took time to award them concerning the President Street fire.
"Thank you for the accolades," Chief Leonard said. "But this is what we do everyday."

Santa and Brooklyn Firefighters Bring Holiday Cheer to NYM

On Friday, December 21, firefighters from Ladder Company 122, Engine Company 220, and Ladder Company 105 joined Santa Claus to bring toys to New York Methodist Hospital's pediatrics patients. The firefighters visited children in the Hospital's inpatient pediatric unit, pediatric intensive care unit, pediatric emergency room, and pediatric outpatient clinic. "Fireman Santa" is a long-time yearly tradition at NYM. Between Santa, his "helpers," Hospital staff, parents and, most importantly, the children, there were plenty of smiles to go around.
