I know the barrel on the Satellite Stangs was 6” I think the largest tip was 4”. The Sattelite Stangs could throw 4000 GPM per minute when adequately supplied The super pumper tender originally had a McIntyre fireboat monitor which was replaced with a 8” barreled Stang Intelligiant monitor.

Nozzle type used was the Stang Intelligiant with an 8" barrel. Tip sizes were 3" (3000 gpm @ 125 psi), 3 1/2", 4" (5000 gpm @ 125 psi), 5" (8000 gpm @ 125 psi) and a 2000 gpm fog tip.

Satellites had Stang Intelligiant nozzle with a 6" barrel. Tip sizes were 2", 2 1/2", 3", 3 1/2", 4" and two fog tips 700 gpm and 2000 gpm.

The Foam Tender was placed out of service since the rig was purchased in 1992. The dept changed the foam program to where five foam tankers are located in various parts of the city. Eng 96 in the Bronx, Eng 260 in Queens, Bklyn has Eng 247, & Staten Is has two units, Eng 152 & 167. Each tanker carries 1,500 gallons of foam. Your ideal has a lot of merrit to it, but the 3,000 gallon foam tender is gone.

Just pulled this off of a site, not sure how accurate it is

E095 L036
29 Vermilyea Avenue
Manh
Foam Carrier 95
Think that's old. They got rid of Foam 95 & Foam 5

Only Foam Units Are:

Foam 96 Transported by E-96 back up E-73
Foam 152 Transported by E152 back up E-161
Foam 167 Transported by E-167 back up E-162 (Suppose to stay on SI)
Foam 260 Transported by E-260 back up E-299
Foam 247 Transported by E-247 back up E-321

It must be a long time for Engine 299 to arrive at Engine 260 in order to pick up the apparatus.
The Long Island Expressway is horrible, especially in the AM rush hours.

Well that will change soon anyway since they won’t have the foam they will have the super pumper

I think that having 299 as the Backup may be due to the fact that they are on the opposite side of the Boro from 260 & assignment wise most probably neither would normally be assigned to the same job......the idea of a trained Backup would be defeated if they both regularly wound up assigned to the same original job.
