NYC Fiscal Storm coming

If your budget has between a 5 and 11 billion dollar short fall why have a budget at all. Budgets are supposed to on some level be equal at 0 talk about setting yourself up for failure and why should it be the other 49 state’s responsibility to bail out NYC. This is not doing on the electorate making these decisions.

brings back bad memories of 1975...went through the layoffs (still a very sore subject)
nyc was forced to be fiscally responsible throughout the years following the start (1975) of the financial control board (big mac)
until the deblasio administration and its been all downhill from there
demanding the return of the money deblasios wife stole under the pretense of mental health would be a good start.

Firefighters from across the country thought if they would lay off firefighters in the busiest fire department in the country, during their busiest time in the peak of the FDNY War Years, then they certainly can lay off firefighters on a nationwide basis.

And that's exactly what happened.
I remember the closings of some of Bridgeport and New Haven Companies.
I can tell you that there were much larger fires on arrival.

I was also concerned and there was talk of laying off firefighters in the city I work (Norwich, Ct).
With less than two years on the job I would probably be let go
There was a distribution of manning and fortunately no one was laid off.
But we went from 14 on duty firefighters to 13, then to 12.
