I remember they had cannons in the front of the building and we used to play on them

And then walked down Northern for an orange drink at Nedrick's on the corner of Main Street.

MacGrotty Chevrolet used to be where the fire building is now on the southwest corner of Northern and Union. Who remembers Robert Hall on the southeast corner and Sports World next door - if you do you’re old like me

LOL I bought my high school graduation suit in Robert Hall. And used to (literally) live in Lafayette Electronics just west of the armory.
I had my '67 Chevy Caprice Classic, SS 427, 385 hp serviced in McGrotty. The only antipollution device was a PCV valve!
