Wesley Chapel,FL Apartment Complex Fire, Nearly 100 Apartments Destroyed 8/20/2026

I live in FL and I'm seeing new construction over the last few years consisting of multistory wood frame. This building was completed in 2024, and looks similar to what I've seen made solely from wood. No one buys/rents a home with fire safety in their mind's forefront in the 21st century, but i find it weird that this type of construction has been happening.

I did a walk thru of a similar building in Fl in about 2000ish. They way it was described to me was plywood held together by gasoline. The builders will do the least possible to get to code. After that, not their problem.
