My son is a Lt. ( Fire side ) in Queens in an Engine, had a car accident with injuries, all minor, but had to wait almost an hour and a half on Monday night for a bus, dispatcher kept saying none available !!!!! Crazy

That’s because people use them as cabs to get rides to the hospital for non emergency issues and nobody does anything about it.

Why not call for mutual aid ambulances?

They did for July 4th and the World Cup, a bunch of AMR Units through FEMA.

A ton of EMTs and Paramedics were then unhappy that the city was paying for the FEMA Units, and a ton called out sick

After they started calling out in July, it seems that the numbers never went back quite up to pre-july numbers

Going to get worse when this next fire academy class starts, EMS is loosing even more
