In February 1981 a movie came out based on this NYPD Police Pct called "Fort Apache the Bronx" starring the late Paul Newman.
Note - I was a United States Postal Service Letter Carrier in Westport, Ct from 1970 - 1975 and I delivered to Paul Newman.
I remember having a registered letter that only Paul Newman could sign for.
He signed for it and off I went.
I had no idea who he was.
That is until the movie Fort Apache came out.
Also, I buffed in this area of the Bronx during this time.
What a place it was ! ! !
