Can anyone provide the exact model number for the leather helmet frontpiece used by FDNY?  They list several models as "FDNY" (both Paul Conway and Cairns) and I want to replace the helmet given to me as a gift from the FDNY while here in New Orleans during Katrina. Just want it to be the same...

    seagrave front bumper discharge

What is the black post or handle immediately next to the front bumper discharge, usually a gated wye configuration, on the new(er) Seagrave pumps and squads?  I thought it may be to keep it from swiveling too far, but there isn't one on the other side.  Any chauffeurs here?

    Squad 61

I have a question re: Squad 61's front stang / deckgun.  I noticed that the other squads have 1 stang over the pump panel, while 61 has 1 over the pump panel and 1 on the roof near the lightbar. So, is it removable and is it prepiped? While I am here, does anyone know why the have the additional...

FDNY apparatus question- What is the panel on the Chaffeur's side?

Hello All! It's Paul, from New Orleans, again. My curiousity is piqued regarding the panel or compartment between the front and rear cab windows on FDNY apparatus. It is about even with the windows, over the wheel well on the chauffeur's side and appears to be brushed stainless or aluminum.  It...

Good day from New Orleans!  Can anyone tell me what the purpose of the modification is this Seagrave apparatus?  The pump is assigned to the Bureau of Training and marked "P.S.S. 1" on the front bumper. I noted that the monitor has been removed and there is iron or galvanized pipe in the area...

Can anyone here (that is familiar with the waterous 3 stage pumps) answer a basic question? What are the 3 large gauges on the pump panel, or what do they represent? In New Orleans, and everywhere else that I've seen, we have 2 large gauges high on the pump panel. Obviously, they are for Master...
