    Happy & Healthy Retirement

Congratulations to Joe Ferrante, Queens Borough Commander, and Joe LaPointe, ceremonial unit commander, on their retirements. Two 40+ year members who made a big impact! https://www.nyc.gov/site/fdny/news/Y90225/fdny-fire-operations-members-promoted-ceremony-queens

FDNY R-1 Captain set to retire

You may be thinking of the fact Hatton was married to an aide of the Mayor and was reportedly very close to him. Of course, nobody would question that Hatton was qualified for the role. My understanding is the FC would be kept abreast of any prominent assignment such as Rescue Captain, but...

0430, should likely say "probably will hold" and "release rescue and squad". There is no such term as "rescue squad" in the FDNY, they're separate units.

    New Updated Server and Software

Not a big issue but I noticed in the 'latest posts' column every thread now has "Thread" in front of it, which wasn't the case before. Thanks for all you do

    Interview of Commissioner Tucker

I believe that their recently-released strategic plan said something to the effect of all incoming probies will be paramedics or EMTs and will in the future maintain that credential on the fire side. If I am correct on that, your suggestion will take care of itself eventually

New Squad and Mas Service Unit Orders

Are you saying they're all trained and have the second piece ready and aren't put in service as an HMTU yet due to budget? I presume due to the 12% (or whatever it is) SOC pay?

New Squad and Mas Service Unit Orders

Does anybody know why they stick to 1000gpm pumps for the squads? Most of the rest of FDNY engines are now 2000gpm. Is there a space difference in a 1000gpm vs. 2000gpm pump that would allow the squad to have more compartment space?
