So I knew this was coming for awhile just didn’t know exactly when the official date is. The CPC units will be removed as all new probies are going to be CPC Trained. I believe the department is now 85% trained. The CPC units that are “NOT” Vent Support Units will be removed from service. CPC PPE on the Vent Support Units will be changed from 6 to 24 sets. There is a possibility they might move some things around as some closing have newer trucks.

Closing CPCs should be
M - 2, 6, 9, 10, 12, 13, 18, 21, 35
B - 107, 111, 114, 120, 157
X - none
Q - none
R - none

Companies that should be staying Vent Support
M - 23
B - 105, 119, 124, 159, 172
X - 17, 33, 51, 58
Q - 115, 142, 160
R - 80, 87

I also believe what ever ones are being kept need to be plugged in most are already like 115, 159, 172, 124…

More to follow

I wasn't aware the fans were on the 2nd piece. I thought the fans were in a compartment on the main piece.
Every ladder company has a box fan. Vent support (CPC) 2nd pieces have 3-4 larger fans. Couple gas and electric ones. Battery ones were tested I know L4 had one I believe just High Rise units have them now

A couple of questions. 1) am I reading this correctly that they're dropping down to 1 VSU in Manhattan yet 5 in BK and 4 in the Bronx? Or is that 1VSU + the 2 High Rises? Do the high rises have CPC? 2) When you say everyone or mostly everyone is trained and they're adding more CPC to the remaining units, is the idea that basically any truck can come in and be a CPC truck meaning one CPC second piece could outfit say as many as 4 trucks in total? Thanks.
