Question been meaning to ask this for awhile but always forget.

I see in the beginning of the Video Division 6 messenger Van.

Who takes that to the job? I didn't think those were staffed 24/7

The rest of the aides. Each Division has its normal Driver which gives the reports, plus 2nd aide as backup they ride with Div Chief. Depending usually 2 Other Aides will ride in one of the Messenger Units, one of the 2 vans. During the day they run around the Divsion & HQ and if Fire they respond.

my question might be dumb, but I’m not a fire fighter, I would like to learn what was the exposure issues, that it was so difficult to attack the fire in the beginning?

The windows on Exposure 2 (the multiple Dwelling on the Left windows failed and was ready to go into the building 2 Lines where stretched into it, 1 to the roof and other to the floor the fire was threatening. The Multiple Dwelling on Right Side which is technically Exposure 4A had extension both into of the 3rd Floor Balcony Area and a window on the 3rd Floor. With that volume of fire 🔥and heavy embers in the area that’s another issue.

I am going to say it again. "Where are the Satellites? "Where are the Stangs = Semi-portable Large Caliber Stream "Deck Guns." This was a fire to use Satellite Monitor streams and Engine Company Deck Guns. Perhaps Satellites need to be special called by the Incident Commander for even 10-75s in large buildings or for advanced fire upon arrival.

With a 2nd Alarm on arrival that tight area I don’t think you can get the satellite into the front of the building. Also they are more to get a water supply off different mains especially in that area of the bronx.
