Looks like L38 initially went to L39 on this box, then went 1st due to 7-5 3468, followed by L48 to L39. Correct?

Why was E88 relocated to E70 on a Sunday afternoon? Was E70 off duty for Mother’s Day?

L-27 was initially act. 39 & was special called to this box above the 3rd Alarm at 14:32, then around 5 min. latter box 3468 came in for the fire at Olinville, L-38 is listed in that rundown as act. 39, I must've missed that part, I only heard 27 & 48 relocating to 39.

On certain weekends when City Island is going to be crowded, an engine and truck are relocated to 70/53 who are still in service to provide extra coverage in case of fire. Companies coming from mainland will certainly be delayed to volume of traffic accessing island. Usually Mothers Day and Fathers Day plus a few other days.

That was pretty much every Friday and Saturday night all Summer when I worked out there. Crazy traffic jams getting onto the island from noon onwards and running in the Bronx Indy 500 to get off.

Back in the 1930s the 2d section of E76 would relocate from their firehouse on West 102nd street in Manhattan to City Island on the weekends between Memorial Day and Labor Day. I saw these orders years ago but cannot recall all the particulars. I believe it was just for the evening hours. A long haul.
Just before World War 2 and then again in the 1950s a spare rig was quartered in E70 and activated as a 2d Section on summer weekends, staffed by details from the 7th Division. I remember the 1950s spare, a 1947 American LaFrance rig that formally served at Es97 and 45.
