Who responds to a MEDICAL BRANCH call, in route etc.
Are you asking what EMS resources are assigned to different types of MCIs? Or are you asking who is in charge of Medical Branch on scene? Medical Branch is a blanket term for EMS units, not a call type.Who responds to a MEDICAL BRANCH call, in route etc.
That's the question being askedProbably means when the dispatchers say medical branch resources are responding to an AH fire. Who responds then?
Yes I’m clarifying for LebbyThat's the question being asked
Is the 2nd, 3rd alarm etc the total response or cumulative? Meaning for 2nd Alarm, is it a total of 5 BLS, 2 ALS including the 1st Alarm units or is it an additional 5 BLS, 2 ALS on top of the 1st Alarm?
Are division captains still in the response matrix?
Fairly certain is cumulative. Could be wrongIs the 2nd, 3rd alarm etc the total response or cumulative? Meaning for 2nd Alarm, is it a total of 5 BLS, 2 ALS including the 1st Alarm units or is it an additional 5 BLS, 2 ALS on top of the 1st Alarm?
I saw that division captains were including for the EMS side of the response matrix for a hazmat incident according to one of the department orders from this year. (Order 14, Supp 11) Is this just a mistake on the departments side? The numbers you see are the minimum number and type of resources for the particular signal. If the number of patients is increasing or it’s a rapidly unfolding dynamic event you request additional by type based on incident needs. As an Officer I always tried to go above the minimum numbers asking for additional while enroute based on the radio traffic from the incident. Ambulance crews don’t really have that latitude. They should but that doesn’t mean they will. Regards to the Duty Captain question. No Duty Captain for well over 5 years now. They were abolished because of labor managements issues. Captains still exist and you will see them just not as the Duty Captain.
The matrix was revised on 2/2/24I saw that division captains were including for the EMS side of the response matrix for a hazmat incident according to one of the department orders from this year. (Order 14, Supp 11) Is this just a mistake on the departments side?
Must be to act as the HTO, learn something new everyday.
Such as? Most MCIs that don't have ALS are traumas, which ALS can't do a whole lot to begin with and could always be requested if need be. Also they all have ALS officers who could needle decompress, etc.Certainly don’t understand how ALS is not assigned to some of those
