Due to the nature of the collapse of the building, there were many heroic operations to get to the injured FF's out. Many of the Brothers operating at the scene went above and beyond to rescue the trapped members. Unfortunately the Chief fell victim to the collapse. He was truly missed in the 44 Battalion. A FF from 227 that was also a victim in the collapse, was out for a period of time, came back to work and caught a job first tour and quit then and there. Talk about a traumatic experience that everybody handles differently.
