Great rundown 73. Thank you.

I believe those addresses on Marion Avenue were actually 29xx, etc. The 25xx's are way further south on Marion Avenue. But I nitpick.

Any insight on what causes 4R to be staffed? One guess: lack of staff chiefs so a deputy acting as citywide for the 24? Or different type of situation?
So 4R is a Reserve Chief usually not for 24 hours usually a day or night tour. If someone calls out and can’t fill in and there is a lack of staff chiefs at the moment. Movements coming soon!

421 & 422 are a Deputy Chief that’s working in one of the Divisions that gets called in when the CWTC is on a call or busy which CWTC have to go to all events during that day, meetings, funerals and deal with operations in the field.

Great, thanks for the info. So when 4R is staffed is that typically done by a deputy who gets called in to do citywide? I assume all the rest of the staff chiefs have their own car numbers. I understand how 421 and 422 work just curious the difference between 4R and 421/422 in terms of who staffs it. Thanks

usually 4R is staffed by the most senior Deputy Chief? I believe? And 421 / 422 the division goes OOS

Ruptures from large diameter (4 inch and up) gas pipes with pressures greater than 40psi are extremely loud. I have responded to a few over the years. During this incident The Bronx CO attempted numerous times to contact Div 7 and Bat 27 without success. Eventually Div 7 aide advised Bronx that they were having a hard time hearing the radios due to the high decibel noise. I get it. I have experienced this as well in the past. Perhaps issuing Motorola headsets for the APX radios to all Division and Battalions might help in the future. They quickly click on the radio in place of the remote shoulder microphone (RSM) so you can pop them on only when you need them. The cost about $350 each. Available with either 1 or two ear muffs. Good for not only high pressure gas leaks, but steam leaks, incidents at large sporting venues, or during noisy civil disturbances, just something for consideration. When one of the reserve staff cars is activated that deputy takes the division vehicle to the scene , then the division is backfilled with a battalion chief acting as deputy with they’re battalion vehicle.
