B27: (10) 10-45s - all Code 3
It’s worth reiterating how quickly and explosively Lithium Ion Batteries that enter a thermal runaway state can project extremely hot flaming shrapnel around a compartment and fill the compartment with extremely toxic, blinding, disabling smoke at a rate that is incomprehensible unless witnessed. People just don’t get it and the electric mobility industry sits by quietly. And so does the consumer product safety commission and a host of other state and federal agencies. So all around the country, property damage goes up, fire injuries and deaths climb, and the members continue to do what we have always done: adapt to new emerging threats, and continue to crawl down the hallway and operate on the floor above to save lives and confine the fire.

I believe this is the building that Lieutenant John j Malloy (E48) and his family resided in when he was killed at the 3rd Avenue collapse on April 4th 1956.
