Hurricane Helene Response

I was told today by former FDNY EMS Deputy Chief that FDNY EMS has a large group of Medic/EMTs going down to help in Georgia, North & South Carolina and other areas badly damaged by Hurricane Helene. I also know the Christian National Group "Firefighters for Christ" is sending people to help "Franklyn Garaham's Samaritans Purse" in the area of need. Captain Bob Rainey FDNY Engine 26 retired.

As of right now aside from a handful of members who deployed with TF1, there hasn't been a mass deployment of FDNY EMS. But, if there was I'd love to go down and help.

I know the FDNY Fire & EMS are GOING down. But I do not really know the number. Also, the FDNY/Red Cross Disaster Assistance Response Team
=D.A.R.T. IS on the way. D.A.R.T. includes many retired FDNY Firefighter and Fire Officers. Captain Bob Rainey FDNY Engine 26 retired.

Plans are still being finalized to send additional FDNY resources to North Carolina.

The Captain was correct, not that I ever doubted him. An email went out today about EMS members going to Florida or North Carolina. Of course I was injured at work today so I can't apply. Only time will tell if members are actually sent.

I was wondering if anyone new what the different USAR colored helmets mean? I have seen RED, Yellow, White, and Blue
On NY USAR crews? Might be the difference in dept. PD might be blue, EMS might red/Orange FD white and yellow might be OEM.
