Well, if you don't mind responding to projects on a regular basis, then you can be crowned number 1 in workers. When we left the Tin House, 175 and 103 picked up what we used to respond to 2nd due. At the new house those projects became a thing of the past and we sure didn't miss them. The amount of projects in Brownsville is without a doubt mind boggling. The busy ones were from Pitkin Ave. to almost Linden Blvd. and from east to west Rockaway Ave. to Pennsylvania Ave.. Combine that with 1000's of people living in each one of them, it's no wonder there no. 1. But as a Truck Co. I would never sell them short. Great bunch of guys and always happy to see them.

132 relocated to 120 a lot in the 60's and early 70's. I grew to appreciate the workload and the conditions faced by the men of 120. Great company, great spirit and great guys.

When I was in 233-2 and we ran in with120 they had a sign in the rig's window that said they did 1000 runs in May and I believe it was 1970. Back then they were called Super Truck because of the amount of runs and workers they were doing. When we interchanged with Squad 4 on Bristol St. we got a taste of the action south of Atlantic Ave.. It sure was a different world. There were so many vacant buildings on Amboy, Bristol, Strauss, Legion St, Hopkinson Ave., Saratoga Ave., and Howard Ave. A lot of old law tenements that were tough fighting fires in. And of course the Bronx got all the fan fare because we were so far away from the news media. The little coverage we got was when we had 10-45-1's or an unusual situation.
