Winter Storm Garnett 2/8/25 - 2/9/25

Winter Weather Advisory 5pm Saturday February 8, 2025 into 11am Sunday February 9, 2025

4-8 inches "Possible"

Saturday; Snow likley after 4pm. Mostly Cloudy High near 35, with temperatures falling to around 32 in the afternoon.
Wind Chill values as low as 20. West wind around 5mph. 1-2 inches possible

Saturday Night; Snow before 10pm, then snow and sleet between 10pm and 1am, then sleet and freezing rain likely.
Cloudy low around 30, with temperatures rising to around 34 overnight. East wind around 7mph. 3-6 inches possible

Sunday; Sleet likely and freezing rain likely, snow before 10am. Partly Sunny, with High around 39, Northwest wind 6 to 10mph,
with gusts as high as 23mph. Less then a inch possible


***As of 1600 no extra staffing.

Extra Deputy Chief assigned to Division 8 usually that's Field Com as the extra spot.

Extra Marshal & Prevention Squads out tonight

Extra Emergency Crew

Most of Connecticut they are talking 6 - 10 inches of snow.
Some cities and towns throughout the northeast are expecting more.

For those who must operate or drive during these winter conditions PLEASE BE CAREFUL OUT THERE.

I'm here in Baldwin Fla for 11 months and getting more homesick seeing your getting a nice storm where l would be in a tee shirt at 20 degrees. Uncle Willie , Brad. Please help me....lol
 
Re: the extra Deputy, does that mean Division 20 is / was in service in South BK? Or used in a different manner?

There is always at least one extra DC usually assigned to Field Com. If a DC takes off then that deputy fills in so no acting DCs. 9x there was 2 Extra DCs one assigned to Field Com and other was assigned to Batt 47. Surplus Chief. The usually spots are Field Com and FDOC. 6x the extra was at Div 8.

Thanks for the info Skyler. In the case of the 47, how does that work, do you know? Was the 47 just a battalion that happened to be vacant to they put the surplus deputy in the BC spot? Or is the deputy riding surplus to the BC?

Surplus to the Battalion. Better then being at FDOC I guess lol

Field Com Liaison, extra chief at the command post. Whatever the incident commander needs him for. There is 4 SCBA paks so he could get assigned interior also.
