VINTAGE FDNY RIG PHOTOS.

EXCELLENT PHOTOS of probably some of the best fire apparatus ever built.

Photos from my two favorite fire departments that I buffed for many years and saw these Mack Fie Trucks in action.
Those departments being the FDNY and Providence, RI during their busiest years of fire activity.

Thank you very much Chief JK "68jk09" for passing this on to us.

Also - an entire collection of apparatus photos right here on this thread starting with page 1.

I attended high school on the corner of Amsterdam Avenue and West 61st Street in the 1960s and could watch out the classroom window as this rig would plow South, on a center fire lane on the Avenue, against traffic, to boxes to the south in their district.

L35s air horn blasted it's way through the oncoming northbound traffic. It was similar to how I could hear L33s same model rig cruise up the Grand Concourse from my grade school just a few years earlier.
