Engine 17 Engine FDNY

I worked in 2 FDNY Engine companies that were disbanded. Engine 27 on 173 Franklyn St. Manhattan Lower West Side and Engine 17 on Pitt St. on Manhattan's Lower East Side. I covered vacations as a Lieutenant in Engine 85 on Boston Rd. in the South Bronx, E-85 was disbanded. I guess I'm just bad luck for FDNY companies. I have heard that Engine 27s old quarters at 173 Franklyn St. is now owed by "Taylor Swift" yes that Taylor Swift.
Captain Bob Rainey FDNY Engine 26 retired.

I worked in TL-18 when Max Rutter was still active. A great guy and a lot of fun to be with. I am also in the photograph I am the "Then Skinny guy" keeling in the front row, 5th from the right next to my friend Mike Barone. Mike Barone left L-18 to go to Rescue 5 in Staten Island, when rescue 5 was reopened. My Lieutenant and friend, when I was in Ladder 11, Lt. Vinny Romeo also went to Rescue 5 at a Lieutenant at the same time Mike went when Rescue 5 was reopened. My friends and both great firemen. Captain Bob Rainey FDNY Engine 26 retired.

Is that near the old Engine 27?
It’s the next block up. The firehouse is 173 which is just west of Hudson and it looks like her place is just east of Hudson at 155 Franklin. I matched 155 to the photo in the NY Post article.IMG_0982.pngIMG_0985.pngIMG_0983.png
