And meanwhile so many guys that are in the engine companies used to be EMT's. I believe the job has talked about finding a way for guys from EMS to keep their EMT card so they can provide a higher level of patient care if needed.

It was, but with the union theres a big chance that if the Department wants it to happen the union will want a pay increase for all members that have to maintain their EMT-B or EMT-P
