    Originally, Battalion 46 came into the FDNY in 1898 as Queens Battalion 16 having been Long Island City Battalion 2. Later in 1898, Queens Battalion 16 was renumbered as the original Battalion 36. Battalion 36 was renumbered as Battalion 46 in 1906. It was at 40-08 Astoria Blvd since 1894.

    Engine 80 moved to 69/28 and Ladder 23 moved to 37/40 on November 28, 2008 after a fire in their quarters. Does anyone recall how long they were relocated? The companies also relocated again for renovations in 2014. Does anyone know those dates?

    The two addresses usually reflect that the single building spans two lots.  This is the case for many buildings but usually only one of the addresses is used.  Not a big deal for firehouses, but it is challenge when buildings have entrances on multiple streets or vanity addresses.
