They'll be sorry if they get an Advantage plan! They sound great upfront but when you get down to the nitty-gritty there are some huge trade-offs. Why do you think insurance companies are pushing them so hard?
While banning them certainly seems extreme it is a major problem that needs a solution. Not only in NYC but everywhere. Banning them is a little over the edge but certainly requiring device designs to be UL approved would be a step in the right direction. It's going to be issued to see what...
Chicago fire department also runs 4 squrts as the 2nd piece of their squads. The actual manufacturer of squrts went through bankruptcy (I believe they have been bought out by somebody else now) and they actually had somebody built something similar for their new units, I forget who it was.
Was the building sprinkled? If it was and certainly didn't do have a good job of controlling this, if it had been operating efficiently this should have been back down before it got this big. I'm sure the investigation may tell us more.
It's happening all over, the government agencies want more and more control and all they end up doing in the long run it screwing things up! Government has already severely hampered many volunteer fire departments because of all the training requirements imposed on them. Yes we all know training...
I know Madison has a paid fire department dizzy others who were responding also have paid firefighters? Even if the numbers given by the fire department are correct that's an awful long response time!
This thread brings up something I've been wondering for a long time. Why isn't there a national standard for fire hydrants? There are so many different thread configurations in different parts of the country it's ridiculous! I understand in certain areas have hydrants with different size...

Even though the US is not on good terms with Cuba but this is a humanitarian issue more than anything and we...
Actually, I've been inside several of the Sprinters and depending how they are equipped they are just as wide as the modular units! Sprinters are a much larger vehicle than the typical vans used for type 2s. Since FDNY never puts a new chassis under an old box anyway this could be a good move.
