When I packed it in 11 years ago the Divisions were borough encompassing, i.e, 1 Manhattan, 2 Bronx, 3 Brooklyn, 4 Queens and 5 Coney Island & Staten Island.

There were times after the changing of the designations we would still inadvertently say 'patrol' in lieu of conditions on the radio. It was a hard habit to break.
Here's one for you number compilers here, which category is topping the run lists these days, EMS runs or "Odor of Gas Runs?" These seem to be constant as one listems to the radio.
Years ago prior to the merger the conditions cars were known as 'patrol.' Ex: 46 Patrol was a Lt. from Station 46 in Queens, 10 Patrol was a Lt. from Station 10 which at that time was out of Bellevue Hospital in Manhattan and so on,

My favorite was from the Queens C.O.. Unfortunately he has passed and I cannot remember his nick name. It was of Polish origin. Perhaps Chief JK knows who I am referring to.
