    1/25/21 Brooklyn 2nd Alarm Box 2877

I won't post it here, but there is a video online of the member being struck by the A/C unit. Second hand information is that he has a broken leg, broken shoulder, and a TBI. A TBI can mean anything from mild concussion to much worse. Here's hoping for a quick recovery.

    10/29/20 Manhattan 10-60/Collapse Box 916

Sounds like it. Explains the need for all the s/c truck companies.

    10/29/20 Manhattan 10-60/Collapse Box 916

I can think of a few incidents where the 10-60 response wasn't at all overkill. The AA crash in Jamaica, the gas explosion and collapse in the East Village, which I think was a 10-60 7th Alarm if I'm remembering right, the similar incident at 116 and Park Av, and obviously the attack on 9/11...

    8/14/20 Bronx 2nd Alarm Box 3627

It was a fake USPS placard, for which the driver got an extra ticket. And apparently the Post caught up with him and he had the nerve to bitch about the windows..."They didn't have to..." he says. How the hell would he know?

    Tower Ladder 35

I've wondered more than once why there doesn't seem to be such a thing. Maybe the tillerman would have to be positioned higher to see over the bulkier tower and bucket, making it impractical?

5/30/20 Manhattan Multiple Protest Related Unusual Incidents

I understand what you're saying. I don't mean to disrespect individual officers or even law enforcement in general. And I'll leave it at that. Thank you for your reasonable response.

5/30/20 Manhattan Multiple Protest Related Unusual Incidents

You say that with such confidence, but cite no evidence. Think about whose interests are served by violence and looting. It turns the focus away from the issue of police brutality and abuse of power. That doesn't help the cause of the DNC, to say nothing of your Antifa bogeyman. Anyway, I'm...

5/30/20 Manhattan Multiple Protest Related Unusual Incidents

I'll preface this by saying I don't condone or defend violence against people or the theft or destruction of property under any circumstances. I do think that what happens during protests is complex and unpredictable, and usually there is plenty of blame to go around on all sides when they turn...

How are addresses assigned to boxes?

Hey all. I've lurked here for years, but a burning question inspired me to participate. I was looking at box locations and wondered what the actual area covered by each box looks like. For instance, my old address in Brooklyn was 710 President Street, and it appears to be more or less the same...
