    New/replacement firehouses

I could never understand why the next generation of fire dept facilities never included underground parking.

    FDNY apparatus placement

Another thought was positioning the TL on an incline. You positioned the apparatus so that if the bucket was extended, and the aparatus slipped, the bucket would move away from the fire building.

    FDNY apparatus placement

Good story TA, as a LCC in L 5, we ran with L 20, and to your point, the LOFT structure was a whole other animal from an engine and truck standpoint.

    FDNY apparatus placement

As a LCC in Manhattan, if nothing was showing for a large building, perhaps 100' long, I'd stop within the first 25'. You can usually always pull forward if something appears, but forget about backing up. Lining up a building with a tiller, rearmount and TL were three unique tactics, also if...

TO REMEMBER; 1988 SUPER BOWL Today a bunch of us from L 112 and E 277 took the subway to FDNY Headquarters on Livingston Street in downtown Brooklyn to protest the planned and deceitful closing of Brooklyn’s ‘Tin House’ E 232 and L 176. There are over six thousand off duty firefighters...

NYPD to begin new RMP striping design

I'm sure there was a lot of thought that went into this change, I think the color scheme may give off more of a friendlier appearance given the turbulent times we now know. I'm waiting for the NYPD to change their uniform from the navy blue that Giuliani implemented to "enhancde authority."
