Reading through the new operational book i had seen two haz-mat type units but no detail had been given for their use. 1, The haz-mat logistics truck and 2, haz-mat general purpose support. When do these rigs respond to runs whats carried on them and their function at a haz-mat situation?
Pittsburgh now has 28 engine companies and 11 trucks. They do have a fire boat but not used often and staffed by an engine company when needed. As for buffing PGH they are not as busy as lets say new york, philly, chicago, but you could go to visit some fire houses.
Have seen a few videos of the department using the genisise e-force battery tools. has the job gone to battery operated rescue tools or just the SOC companies. Last known all SOC companies were using TNT and ladder companies still using hurst.
Squads do not carry the hard suction drafting tubes and some of the squads that i have visited when i go to nyc carry their high rise bundles in the back compartment.
I have seen some vids of some of the new engines and noticed that they are high pressure 3stage engines 39, 226 to mention a few. Is the job adding additional high pressure engines to the 8 already in service?
