Fire Departments That Don't Use Standard (NST) Hose Threads

I remember reading an article as to why the FDNY has a different thread and why it stayed that way, way back then. Today it would be a HUGE cost in changing all standpipes, hose couplings, outlets etc. Does anyone know where I can find something telling that story.

The truck chauffer could not operate the pumps because he is operating the turntable, as per safety needs when the bucket is out of the cradle the chauffer must be on the turntable. If he's running the pumps, then he can't be running the turntable and then the bucket can't be used. Therefore...

Not to split hairs or to get complicated but if it's a spare wouldn't it be over 11 years old? If that's true, would you not relocate or does that not count?

    FDNY Engine 261 / Ladder 116

If you Google map the address, the bay door is open and it looks like L116 is on one side and da Collapse rig is on da other side. I don't see how another rig could fit in there.

11/5/24 Bronx All Hands Brush Box 3596

One big problem with brush fires that alot of people don't realize is that when you had a well involved brush fire it starts to burn underground and gets roots and tree stumps going. Some of these fires don't pop up for a day or days. I saw that when I was working in California after a couple...
