    Resorce Unit Leader

That being the case, if he's managing remaining units on hand as well, why the need for a Battalion chief to be a staging manager at the staging area, since everyone wears a radio and is in communication with the command post on any number of designated frequencies.

If there was no extension to exposures, when I was in E38, a 20 yd. dumpster fire was handled by 1+1

Since EMS also has a staging area and a response assignment on each alarm, has that eliminated the required response of Car 32 or 33 to multiple alarms?

These chiefs still don't understand why certain procedures were put in place. Maybe they should do some remedial reading at night. Some day, putting the FAST TRUCK to work instead of using any standby resources to do temporary truck work until an additional truck company arrives, is going to...

Not only that, but requesting an additional fast truck means that they will take some time to get there; they will probably have to park at least two blocks away and drag everything through the streets to get to the front of the building; then have to do a complete 6-sided size up on their own...

I can remember a loooong time ago when the AUC came out, that 1 3/4" hose could be used only when compatible with fire conditions. Do you think the amount of water being used due to hose size may be inadequate? I remember when we had to stretch 2 1/2" in P.Ds for the first line. Big water =...

Don't promote bush league. More professional to block the car in with the rig until the PD tow truck can hook him and drag it to the impound lot. the $250 to get your car back on top of the summons $$ will hurt more than an insurance policy that has full glass coverage.

I think L109 to L19 would get the mileage prize. Strange that E94/L48 were nowhere to be found. Were they operating somewhere? First time I've heard a S/C for Rescue and Squad - to relieve a Resue and Squad. If they were basically doing truck work, why not keep them available and s/c two...

Never liked those buildings when I worked there; always a long stretch since the entrances weren't near the street. We once had a roof rope rescue from the Exp.4 side upper windows in the early 70's at one of those building. Couldn't get an aerial positioned to that side.

LOL - don't get picky! We both know that the engines can't hit it unless the trucks open the walls and ceilings first;)😛 Most of my career was in engines, so I can appreciate good truck work when I see it!

They may have been CLASS 4 Row Frames, possibly with a common cockloft. If so, trucks made a good stop at Exp. 2 and Exp.4.

You mentioned the new cockloft nozzles. In your opinion, do you think they are more easially maneuverable and efficient that the old lightweight aluminum Rockwood cellar pipes that were sold for aluminum scrap?

The term "taxpayer" goes back to when land property was owned, and an inexpensive structure, usually a row of 1 story stores (small strip mall) was erected and rented out, basically to "pay the property taxes." In later years as the concept took off, some were built as two story, with...
