Blitzfire just happens to be the brand specific name from TNT. Elkhart Bass is called a RAN or Rapid Attack Nozzle. Same thing different name. Stay safe and low.

There great for a lot of things. Hazmat would be another, where you can set it up and let it sweep large lpg tanks and keep the crews out of potential blast/bleve areas or an area that may be unstable. Its one of those things that took someone long enough to figure out.

Looks like this. Its a smaller portable high volume monitor. In theory, 1 person can move it around or use it as a high volume nozzle but its awkward as hell. Tried it at a fire with Elkharts version. You can also set it and forget it and it will sweep an area without being watched over. Ours...

Yes and under ideal conditions. Perfect hydrants, mains hard suction, etc. Plus what the 2 engines supplied went right into a 2nd pump to boost it further. I started looking at this the other day when I saw how much equipment was moving water. Before the SP, they were flowing about 11k gpms...

Just doing some internet sleuthing, I'm thinking that they use Key Pro Flo. Main reason is, that Key Industrial ldh doesn't come in yellow, only red and black and the other ldhs either come up to 5 inch or no yellow. Could possibly be an equivalent from Snap tite or similar. Service pressure...

Only reason I thought Mills Basin is that he mentioned Brooklyn. Its behind where the multiple in the parking garage at Kings Plaza was a few years ago, before Floyd Bennett if your going by water from Howard Beach towards the Marine Parkway

This is just me, and having a high volume unit assigned to the 2 airport hose wagons (316 and 308, using them as first out units similar to high pressure units downtown or the old sat system where the engjnes were 2000 gpms but the rest of the fleet were 1000. You could extend that to the sat...

If I understand this correctly, there were certain mains basically dedicated to the original super pumper system. There were larger and higher pressure. The average engines couldn't hook up to them by design. It was a noticeable difference in the hydrants and different threads or outlets. Im...

I've seen quite a few eccs that fully dress a hydrant lately. But Broad Channel, Hamilton Beach, Ramblersville, have a lot of dead end hydrants, or looped systems that fully dressing a hydrant is pretty much a necessity.

Im not 100% sure. I did see that also. Signal and I have talked about it a few times. Looking at Cross Bay and 165 Ave, its 331,285,225 173,142,107. For some reason after the bridge 225/107 and 285/142 swap spots. It may have swapped back. Granted the Rockaway companies come in, but that...

I think, 107 should be on the 1st and 142 on the 2nd. Unless something happened to reverse them. Its one of those things that makes absolutely no sense.

    New Seagraves

Haven't seen anything either way. The big thing is going to be if the frame was damaged by heat. Plus total repair cost vs a new unit. In the past FDNY has bought new major pieces for a unit and put it back in service. I'll see if I can find the picture, but they've bought a frame, cab and...

Pretty sure I didn't make too many new friends when I pointed out if you read the article..... and a lot of major west coast depts and FDNY routinely send aerial devices to brush fires.
