New Seagraves

They could probably salvage every rear of the cab, electronics in the pump still worked but the cab was completely burnt out
I’m not FDNY but I’d be super skeptical of salvaging any parts of that pump, the heat it’s been exposed to, especially electronics. I can see pulling the whole rear fire body off. It’s inevitable someone’s engine will get damaged and they can replace it. Or at the least pull all the compartment door and interiors out.

When I said everything rear of the cab I was more so referring to rear of the pump, but before they cut the batteries to the pump the electronics were still on, though I wouldn't wanna be anywhere near that pump when if it gets turned on

Any update on engine 79s rig? Is it totaled or will they be able to fix it?
Haven't seen anything either way. The big thing is going to be if the frame was damaged by heat. Plus total repair cost vs a new unit. In the past FDNY has bought new major pieces for a unit and put it back in service. I'll see if I can find the picture, but they've bought a frame, cab and running gear from Seagrave, and put a boom, and body on it from its "totaled" predecessor, and sent it.
