With all those cuts mandated by some in Washington I hope we are not going to return to that type of service again.^^^ May those two Marines Rest In Peace .....Semper Fi ! .......
Hope they were treated better than some others by the VA.
We were the best America had. And we got screwed! The V.A. does not take care of us Vietnam Vets. very well. I have been suffering from the effects of Agent Orange since 1968 and after multiple applications and claims to the V.A. they have done nothing for me. I served in both the "Blue and Brown" water US Navy in Vietnam from 1966 to 1967 and when I asked for treatment they said "You do not meet the Criteria" for either benefits, treatment or even evaluation. The only ones that I now depend upon are my fellow vets in the V.F.W. and the American Legion. Captain Bob Rainey FDNY Engine 26 retired
Sad but true...it seems the more ailments that surface the less the VA takes a role...i feel very bad for the Veterans who do not have their own Health Plan to pick up the slack when the VA does not.....the battle was supposed to have ended in 1975 but it continues to this day with the VA......A REAL SHAME !The V.A. does not take care of us Vietnam Vets. very well.
