I know what 3612 is, but what does 6-6-2-2 indicate?  I'm guessing , but could it indicate a second alarm in Da Bronx?

Dover FD.......yes you are correct  2-2 is a second alarm....

6-6  indicates the boro

6-6  is Manhattan & Bronx
7-7  is Brooklyn
8-8  is Staten Island
9-9  is Queens

Back in the old days when there was only the bell system it was used...

It still exists in the Communications Manuel to date

A lot of units were out.
L39 (initially), 38/51 ( normally second due, never made it), E's 90 and 88 (usually assigned in before E's 81, 45, 75), ditto 66/61 (at the Throggs Neck bridge jumper?).

The following is the BARB for 3612
1st  Alarm  E-62,38,79,63  L-32,51
2nd Alarm  E-90,66,48,97  L-37,39
3rd Alarm  E-81,88,45,75  L-41

I have 2nd alarm copy in hand from today and yes units were out
2nd Alarm today  E-48,81,45,75  L-61 those are the units. So E-38,90,66,48 all must have been out since E-97 was on first alarm 4th due. 48 must have become available upon 2nd alarm and was then assigned. L-61 is normally 4th alarm truck so L-51 missed this as 32,37 on first alarm 39 in area and L41fast. the special called L-56 is on 5th alarm normally and L38 is not on the 1st to 5 th alarm assignment in Bronx BARB.
