22-4220 58th ave & 66th st, fire in a church.

At approx. 07:00, Division 14 reported a near-total collapse of the church.  Had heavy fire throughout for several hours.

Anybody know the name of the church?  If a near collapse, I would imagine that the brought in at least one collapse rescue.

Maybe not, assuming everybody was out before the fire consumed the building there is no need for a collapse response.  Their only dispatched when a rescue situation exists, many major fires with building collapses never get a collapse response.

Fire in the rear on arrival, heavy fire in the basement extending up, 2nd alarm by BC-46. About 50 minutes before this fire there was a 2nd alarm @ 592 W 207th St in Manhattan, heavy fire from the 99 cents store on arrival went straight to a 2nd alarm with an additional towerladder. Also after the factory fire, Brooklyn had 2 quick All Hands. #1 was fire in a 2 story attached dwelling, #2 was fire on the 2nd floor of a 3 story OMD.

This was all within 2-3hrs

I wouldn't be surprised if all of those fires were caused by lightning strikes, we had extremely severe thunderstorms around that time and was a time when most people are asleep.

The factory, church & 99 cent store fires were all 10-41 code 1s, due to heavy volume of fire on arrival, BC-45 wanted the marshals to the factory fire.
