( FDNY BOX 3489 - BROOKLYN )  -  FDNY BATTLING A 3RD ALARM FIRE IN A COMMERCIAL OCCUPANCY, ( UNIVERSAL CERAMIC ), ON BATH AVENUE IN THE BATH BEACH AREA OF BROOKLYN IN NEW YORK CITY.

A long list of very unusual relocates lately. Usually they are fairly predictable, not so now. It is probably due to increased fire duty everywhere...we?ll see if the trend continues.

I believe it may be just the opposite. The busy companies during the "war years" very rarely relocated. Units from low activity areas were relocated to the units in the busy area as per alarm assignment cards with the dispatcher using their authority to deviate from them.
Now many of the old busy units areas have re-gentrified & many of the old "nice" neighborhood's with very little fire duty are now the "busy" areas.  So it looks like every company is up for grabs, no matter where they are.
It used to be that the dispatchers & companies like Rescue & Squad would "feel" a certain area would be hot & sort of move closer to that area , just to get there faster.
Many a time at a job we would say, " how'd you guys get here so fast"? That was how.
Just my unscientific observation from retireville.

Once Again - Nice Work by THEMAJESTIRIUM1 !  Another 10 Ft. and you'd have Interior Shots !  8)
